Road to Oz #2

More Oz goodness! This issue was lots of fun, with a bunch of different locations and more of Skottie's awesome designs. I was still experimenting with the new styles, and coming up with some interesting techniques, but I could tell I was already getting more comfortable with the new process.

Hulk Smash Avengers #2

This was a fun little project I worked on a while back. I colored issues 2 and 3 and was supposed to do more, but didn't have the time due to scheduling complications. A shame because these were tremendous fun. Seriously though, how can you go wrong with a title like that? ;)

Here's a few pages from issue 2, drawn by Max Fiumara.

Ultimate X-Men #18.1

Here's a little something I worked on a while back. This issue was unfortunately a little bland-- there wasn't a whole lot going on, and only 2 locations. Easy work, sure, but not very stimulating or challenging. At least, Filipe Andrade's highly stylized work was enough to keep things fresh and interesting for me, even if it's not your typical superhero fare.

Road to Oz #1

Oh, the Marvel Oz books. I think this was a stroke of genius. Skottie Young illustrating Eric Shanower's adaptations of L. Frank Baum's orignal novels-- it all came together so perfectly. Luckily, I was able to worm my way into these projects, and I've had the time of my life.

Anyway, here are a few pages from Road to Oz #1, which is the 5th book in the series. This came out a while back, but it's still pretty fresh for me. I tried out different techniques on Road, but still tried to maintain the feel of previous entries. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the look. Anyway, expect to see more Oz pages on here. ;)

Things that I did-- Marvel Zombies 3

In an effort to add content to this blog, I'll be going over stuff that I worked on in the past and post bits and pieces that I like.

Let's kick things off with Marvel Zombies 3. I know, I know; zombies are beyond played-out. But the Marvel Zombies series is still somehow interesting-- probably due to all the super-powered zombies. At any rate, I had tremendous fun working on these books, and I was shocked by how much gore they let me get away with. I realize this is part of their more "mature" lines, but I was so used to make any blood less obvious, or not very noticeable. Not here!

Anyway, enjoy!
