Giant Size Little Marvel: AVX #1 & #2

So, here's a little series I coloured back in early 2015. It was a very fun 4-issue mini written and illustrated by Skottie Young which was basically a Saturday morning cartoon about the wacky antics of the young Avengers and X-men (mainly their endless squabbling). Fun fact: this is where I developed the approach I would later be using on I Hate Fairyland. Hurrah for experimentation!

Anyway, here are a few pages from the first two issues. Enjoy!

MG 1/100 Sinanju

Here's another model I built and painted a while back. This time, it was Bandai's 1/100th Master Grade MSN-06S Sinanju. I freakin' love this mobile suit-- it's just so badass, with a pretty wild gothic flair.

As usual, I went with a custom color scheme. Nothing wrong with the normal colors, but I just think they have a heavy Blood Angel feel. Besides, I've always been keen on striking my own path, and customizing pretty much everything. Unfortunately, I don't really like the end result of said color scheme. It's a bit too dull and lacks contrast. Add the fact that I had a lot of problems with the paint scratching and chipping, and this build was quite a headache. At any rate, I soldiered on, and finished it.

Anyway, here are a few choice shots of the results. Enjoy!

Invincible #118, #119, & #120

Let's continue our journey through my work on Invincible! This is kind or bittersweet, since a few months ago I was told that I would no longer be coloring the series (I was supposed to come back with Ryan on issue 133). I have to admit that it was pretty heartbreaking, but life goes on. It was actually quite fun going through these pages to pick some to post up here. I also feel that I really hit the sweet spot at this point, and I think these showcase some of the work I'm most proud of (especially issue 119-- it was really hard to narrow it down to 5 pages).

Anyway, enjoy!

Figment 2 #3, #4, and #5

And now, for your supreme enjoyment, I bring you the rest of Figment 2! Well, a few pages from each issue, at least. Lots of awesome mood shifts here, and a great chance to go crazy with the palette. Plus, I love me some creepy atmospheric lighting, so the spooky academy with its haunting green fog was a dream.

I think issue 4 stands out as my favourite-- it has some of the work I'm most proud of, at any rate. It's funny; you work on so much stuff in a year that you actually forget about it. Then, you look back on it later and just think to yourself "how the hell did I do that?".

Anyway, enjoy!
